Meet the Author

Not an Author. Parts Advisor

I'm Dan, a motor trade professional with years of experience behind the parts counter, helping customers find everything from service items to the parts they swear "must be somewhere in the back."

I've spent my career navigating the daily madness of the motor trade, chasing back orders, decoding customer descriptions, explaining why a £2 clip isn't available until next Tuesday, and somehow keeping a sense of humour through it all.

I never set out to become an author. In fact, if you'd told me years ago that I'd write a book, I'd probably have laughed and gone back to checking stock levels.

But after years of bizarre customer encounters, industry frustrations, and stories that fellow parts advisors instantly recognised, I realised there was a book hiding in the chaos.

Surviving the Parts Counter is a collection of those experiences - an honest, funny, and sometimes painfully accurate look at life in the motor trade. It's written for anyone who's ever worked a parts counter, dealt with impossible requests, or wondered what really goes on behind the scenes.

This is hopefully just the beginning. I plan to continue the Surviving the Parts Counter series in the years ahead, sharing more stories, lessons, and laughs from life behind the counter.
