Meet the Author
I'm Dan, a motor trade professional
I have spent more than 25 years working in the motor parts trade.
Starting as a trainee and working my way through motor factors and dealerships, I have spent decades learning the lessons and making enough mistakes along the way to write a book about them.
I firmly believe that parts advisors are some of the hardest-working and least-understood people in the automotive industry, regularly expected to identify mystery components from blurry photos, incorrect descriptions, and the phrase “They’re all the same mate.”
Surviving the Parts Counter is my attempt to pass on what I have learnt, help newcomers avoid the same mistakes, and finally give parts advisors the recognition they deserve.
This is hopefully just the beginning. I plan to continue the Surviving the Parts Counter series in the years ahead, sharing more stories, lessons, and laughs from life behind the counter.
Thanks for visting my website.
